School History

Antartic English School, Yairipok
Antartic English School, located in Yairipok, Imphal East, Manipur, was established in 1993 as a co-educational institution. It is a merit scholarship institute managed by the Administrative Council under the Multi Research and Training Institute (MRTI), Yairipok. The school first presented students for the matriculate examination in the year 2000, achieving excellent results with a significant number of first-division holders—outperforming many long-established schools in the area.

Since then, the school has consistently produced state-level toppers, subject-wise high scorers, and students with letter marks in the HSLC examinations. Encouraged by its early success, the school was upgraded to a Higher Secondary level in 2007 following a proposal by Hon’ble MLA Th. Shyamkumar. However, due to the withdrawal of financial support, the higher secondary section was discontinued in 2010 to protect the sustainability of the secondary section.

The school functions under a robust administrative framework including the Administrative Council, Development Committee, and Coordinating Committee consisting of teaching and non-teaching representatives. It aims to blend academic excellence with moral and social values, rooted in the objectives of the National Policy on Education (NPE 1986).
